Solar Power Install Time-Lapse on Agricultural Research Station

The solar power system on the Westpac Taranaki Agricultural Research Station (WTARS) in Hawera is a pilot system to test out how much New Zealand farmers can benefit from installing solar power on their milking stations.

This video shows a time-lapse of how easily solar panels are installed on a milking shed. Milking sheds make great structures for solar, as solar panels can easily be placed on top of the roof, and strengthing is not normally required.

Solar power systems will help farmers all around New Zealand to reduce their power bills and improve their environmental impact.
